ISL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET 2011

Information for Participants

NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING - NO ARRIVALS PRIOR TO 6:30AM

 

Public access to facility begins at 7:00am - THERE IS NO RESTROOM ACCESSPRIOR TO 7:00AM

 

Time:  6:30-7:00 am  Swimmers arrive (check-in for swimmers happens at your team's campsite with

                                    your team).  All swimmers should have their event numbers & lane assignments written     

                                    on their arms/hands by their coaches.  Coaches will have this info.

7:20 -8:10         Warm-ups.  A team coach must be present. It isn’t necessary for the entire team to warm up as warm ups are allowed throughout the day in the Dive Pool.  Swimmers must remain orderly or we will close the warm-up pool.

            8:15                 8:15- all workers in place/competition pool closed to warm up

            8:20                 Call for first events to the Ready Bench

8:30                 Pre-Meet Ceremonies begin

8:55                 National Anthem

            9:00                 Event #1 in Blue Pool & Event # 3 in Red Pool begin

          10:15                 10:15- Shift II workers to their posts (Blue Pool workers to finish out meet)

          12:15                 12:15- Shift III workers to their posts in the Red Pool

            2:15                 2:15-Meet End Shift IV workers to their posts in the Red Pool

 

THE MEET IS IN ONE POOL  5-8 YR. old swimmers -BLUE POOL (south half of the pool) -  9-18 YR. old swimmers.-RED POOL   (north half of the pool)

       

PARKING:  Parking is available in the Woolett/IHS front lot, the Heritage Park lot to the east, and the Irvine Stadium lot to the north. Please observe reserved parking areas and red curbs, vehicles will be towed if left in red zone.  

 

SPECTATORS:  Spectator seating is available in the concrete bleachers on the west side of the pool. Please watch your swimmer's event and return to your team tent area so all spectators may circulate through and watch their swimmers.

 

NO TARPS, UMBRELLAS, CHAIRS OR COOLERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK, OR IN THE CONCRETE BLEACHERS IN BOTH THE COMPETITION AND DIVE POOLS OR ON THE CONCRETE BLEACHER WALKWAYS.

 

MEET WORKERS:  There will not be a break.  Workers must remain in their position until relieved by the next shift.  If you are not relieved contact a Marshal or HEAD TIMER who will communicate the need for a relief worker. ALL TIMERS BRING YOUR OWN

 

TEAM WATCHES.

Individuals who do not have the shift appropriate meet worker nametag or shift appropriate deck pass wristband will not be permitted past the swimmer/meet worker gates leading to the pool deck or allowed to remain on deck past their shift.

 

 

 

CAMPSITES:  Teams will set-up their assigned campsites on the fields to the east and southeast of the pool adjacent to Walnut Avenue.  Parents and swimmers sit with their teams outside the Woolett facility while waiting for their events.  A PA system will be installed to announce events.

 

CONCESSIONS:  Numerous food vendors will be on site in the front of the facility providing food and beverage service throughout the meet.  There will also be a concessions window operating providing drinks and snacks.

 

CHAMPS APPAREL/CHAMPS PROGRAMS;  Champs apparel and Champs programs will be available for purchase in the front of the facility.

 

READY BENCH:  Only swimmers, Ready Bench Workers and Ready Bench marshals will be allowed in these areas.  Swimmers must have event numbers written on their hands or arms.  All swimmers INCLUDING 15-18's must report to the Ready Bench.  There are no Lane Slips as the whole meet is pre-entered.

Parents of 8 & Under swimmers – Arrange with your swimmer where to meet them after their event.

 

EVENTS:  2 meets will be running at the same time.  This means swimmers’ events will come up quicker than usual.

           

NOTE:  There are no makeup races allowed for missed events

 

The order of events:

 

5-6 & 7-8   BluePool : #1,2,7,8,9,10,19,20,21,22,39,40,41,42,51,52,53,54,63,64.

 

9 & Ups   Red Pool:  #3,4,5,6,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32, 33,34,35,    

                                                36,37,38,43,44,45,46,47,48,49,50,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,65,66,67,68

 

NOTE: If your swimmer is in a 5/6 or 7/8 mixed medley relay AND is also in a butterfly event (events #7-10) remind them to go straight back to the ready bench after their medley relay race as the blue pool swimmers go right into the 5/6 butterfly events after a short break at the conclusion of the 7/8 medley relay.

 

THE MEET IS PRE-PROGRAMMED.  NO CHANGES OR ADD-ON’s WILL BE ALLOWED.

Results will be posted during the meet.

 

TEAM AWARDSwill be presented after the meet
